Quilt 'n Sew Through the Years
Quilt ‘n Sew opened in November 1993 with the mother/daughter team of Beverly Williams and Chaille Voelkel. The original space of 1300 square feet on North Mason was shared with Dan Welch of McDougal’s Sewing Center selling sewing machines. Both shops grew so quickly that they needed more space, so Dan moved to another area in the same center. Soon after Terri Burton bought Quilt ‘n Sew in April 1998, the walls came tumbling down and the shop more than doubled in size.
From the beginning there has been a Frequent Buyer’s Club and a Gammill long-arm quilting machine. Even more amazing, there has been only one increase in Club membership in over 10 years! And for many years you have kept two Gammill’s busy every day!
We currently offer many new classes each quarter! Our teachers continually develop inspiring and innovative projects to keep your creative juices flowing!
In September 2002 we expanded again! We moved to our spacious location on South Mason.
And, coming full circle, we again offer sewing machines;
we are an authorized Janome and Baby Lock dealer.
We hope that you enjoyed this brief tour down Memory Lane.
