Advanced Machine Quilting

Ready to move on with your quilting? Learn to do a simple over-all design, three types of feathers, and several background designs. Most are done without marking. Baltimore Album Quilt

Come and learn about and appreciate the Baltimore Album quilts that began in the 1800's.This class is for all levels of needle turn applique. This is a 12 month class and you will learn needle-turn, gathered flowers, points, perfect circles, ruched flowers, basket weaving and embroidery. Class starts April 13, 2011, 10am - 3pm. Beginning Quilting

Teacher:Jan Mathews Four 3-hour classes Learn the basics of quiltmaking using hand or machine techniques. Great class for beginners or those wanting to brush up on basic skills while learning new methods. Sewing machine required after the first class. Monday, Feb 6, 13, 20 &27, 6-9pm.

Computer Confidence for Machine Embroidery

Computer skills for beginners to learn how to locate and download designs for Embroidery Machines. Learn the basics of computer skills having to do with Embroidery. This class will be in two sessions. First class will cover the basics, second class will cover more advanced ways of using your computer. We will go over software and different procedures for getting your embroidery to your machine. Teachers: Janie McIntosh / Kay Peschke. Disappearing Nine Patch

Watch your traditional 9 patch quilt block magically disappear. The outcome is a stunning new look that nobody will guess that you didn’t have to spend time cutting out each piece and sewing it together. Each individual 9 patch block, once cut and rearranged results in this striking clever quilt. Supplies needed, other than your sewing machine & basic quilting supplies, would be 3 charm packs of your favorite fabric. Feast for the Eyes

Have you always been told to get more fruits and veggies? Here is your chance and cutting them up won't stain your counter. You'll learn an easy way to create your own dynamic design. Prefer not to use food fabrics? Not a problem. Just select colors based on cool and warm tones (this is explained on the supply list). Pattern sold separately and is required for class. Fun and Done - Quilt

Satisfy your need for a quick turn-around quilt and no down time with this easy quilt-as-you-go technique! The quilt is assembled and pieced allowing you to complete the quilting process of the quilt as you are assembling each block. After sewing the blocks together, the backing fabric becomes the sashing on the front of the quilt and you’re done! It’s a wonderful way to combine strips of your favorite fabric, whether a combination for a scrappy look, your much loved holiday fabrics, or school colors for your child. This lap quilt is the perfect weekend project and what a breathtaking way to showcase your new talent! Supplies needed, other than your sewing machine & basic quilting supplies, would be strips of your favorite fabric as outlined in the supply list. We will show you the vibrant fabrics that make up today’s quilting environment as well as their use in your pattern of choice. Learn about mats & rotary cutters – the do’s & don’ts of their use. Learn about rulers, with their many sizes and various applications, over & above measuring. Up to date quilting notions run the gamut from A to Z. Playtime Pals

Have some extra strips lying around? Gather them up and let’s learn to use a handy ruler – the Tri-Rec. Besides learning this versatile tool, we’ll make alternate blocks using your strips. Think of this as a possible “BYOS” – Bring Your Own Stash! Of course, all of your fabrics may come from yardage, if you wish. Teacher: Liz Broussard. Saturday, March 17, 12:30 - 5:00pm. Puzzle Quilt

Another chance to learn Martha’s easy curved piecing technique! The illusion of a puzzle is created by curve piecing semi-circles into neighbor blocks. The quirky placed puzzle pieces are machine appliquéd on quilt after construction is complete. After piecing this “puzzle” together, you’ll be an expert machine curve piecer. QUILT IN A DAY - LOG CABIN

A new twist to an old pioneer classic and a fun beginner project! Each block is centered around a center square and represents the hearth of the home and the strips surrounding this center block represent the cabin logs. The light side of the block symbolizes the sun shining into the log cabin and the dark side portrays the shadows behind the cabin. Once each block is completed they are turned in various directions to create many different looks with names such as Barn Raising, The Fields & Furrows and The Windmill are just a few of the dozens of patterns that can be achieved from these blocks. Savannah

Love easy slicing of stacked fabrics to come up with something of a different look? This class is for you! Choose 2 color families of fat quarters and a coordinate for a unique look. We’ll even simplify the pattern a little to make the process quicker! It’s a blast spinning the blocks in every direction when considering the design possibilities. Seasonal Table Runner

Do you want to learn paper foundation piecing? Do you want to leave class with a completed project? You can do both with this class. Learn Judy Niemeyer EASY paper piecing method with SIMPLE curve piecing. Jane Plisga will show you a simple grid to machine quilt your project in class. Bias binding will be applied. T-Shirt Quilt

Be one the first students to take a class with Martha utilizing her new book, T-Shirts Quilts Made Easy! This class will have three sessions. Students will learn how to stabilize t-shirts, decide appropriate layout and start construction of their quilt. From the traditional sashing technique to asymmetrical layouts, Martha will present numerous layout options to choose from. You will not need your sewing machine for the first session.
