The Shop Hop hours will be 9am-6pm Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and 9am-8pm Friday.
The 12 participating Hop shops in Houston are making a great quilt for you, using an exclusive Island Batik fabric you are going to love. The theme for 2012 Houston Shop Hop is "Colors of Hope" and is designed to share yours and everyones concerns and love for those who are battling all types of cancer, diabetes and heart disease as well as honoring those who are the wonderful caregivers. We are using many Cancer Awareness Ribbon colors that are so beautifully displayed in the Hoffman Batiks and these same colors are repeated in the exclusive fabric. Deborah Borsos designed the unusual off set center, pieced quilt, with a glorious Dove in the center medallion that can be machine or hand appliqued. All the shops are busily planning their gifts, activities and refreshments for the Shop Hop as well as getting the quilt made for you to see. In the works for you also, is another georgeous Jeep Collins silver charm and you will love it because it fits right in with the design and intent of the quilt.

Sensation - 2011 Block of the Month

Guide Lines for Katy Sensation - April 2011
From April 2011 to April 2012 Quilt 'n Sew will offer our new Katy Sensation quilt. Pay $18 and choose one of our 2 lecture/demo session: the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm or the second Saturday of the month at 9:30am. Each month you must attend the same session, and bring your completed quilt block from the previous month. (Completed is defined as the block being sewn together).

You must attend and bring your own block; it cannot be sent with a friend or neighbor. Come to the meeting and watch how the quilt block is put together. We give you the pattern and the fabric to make the first block. Bring the finished block back the next month and get your next block free! If you miss a meeting or cannot get the block finished, you can still get your block - for $10. Block #13 is your free bonus if you complete all 12 blocks or will be available for $10 if you miss one.

If you like the way we set the blocks, we offer a bundle for your quilt top sashing and stars for you to begin putting your blocks together. Closer to month 9 we will offer a bundle for the setting triangles. A finishing border may be added to complete your quilt top.

Some blocks are very simple, some will offer a new technique; but all will be lots of fun! You may have seen one or two of these blocks before, but not in these colors!
