Arizona Sunrise is a favorite wall hanging from Deb Karasik design. Expect stunning finished quilts from this pattern mixed with the selection of your own fantastic fabrics. Students will need to have some basic paper piecing skills to truly enjoy this class. Once the initial techniques of the pattern are mastered, you will learn a few of her special construction techniques making this quilt even simpler than imagined. This class is designed for those who have never quilted, or for those who need a refresher course. Everything you need to know to complete that first quilt will be discussed. We will work on a one block wall hanging approximately 24X24" square. We will talk about fabrics and supplies, patterns, templates, rotary speed cutting, applique, piecing by hand or machine, borders, batting, quilting and binding. Teacher: Terri Burton. These lecture/demo sessions will be held at 2:00 p.m., on the third Thursday of each month, or the Saturday following the third Thursday if you cannot attend the weekday session.

The Paradise in Blooms is Judy Niemeyer's third Technique of the Month (TOM) quilt, published in 2015. The goal of the technique of the month program is to design quilts that incorporate a wide range of Judy's techniques. Jan Mathews, a Certified Instructor, will be teaching this series and will cover all the techniques needed for this stunning quilt.

Do you have a Judy Niemeyer project that you have been working on? Quilt 'N Sew will be hosting some Sit and Sew sessions specifically for Judy Niemeyer projects. Jan Mathews, Certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor, will be available to help you get past those trouble spots and answer those nagging questions you may have been hesitant to ask before. This is not a formal class - just an opportunity to get together and help each other complete your fabulous Judy Niemeyer projects. These Sit and Sew sessions are scheduled ongoing so check our calendar and with the store to find out when these will be offered. Each session will genereally be held from 1pm to 6pm and occasionally we will have earlier class times. The cost is a mere $10 per session. Where else could you get expert help at such a great price! Join us for a fun, creative class using very simple techniques for making a light-weight T-shirt jacket. Stitching the designs in and then ripping the design out of the top layered shirt is just part of the fun. We will learn the braid and ladder techniques along with a few surprise techniques to give your jacket that special customized design appearance. Embellishments by applique, hand or machine embroidery will also add interest to your design. Two or more long-sleeve T-shirts of the same size, but different colors, will be needed. Using fabric from the front and the back you will learn to assemble the binding and attach using familiar binding techniques.
