Beginners Quilting Class

Beginners Quilting Teacher: Diane Patrice Rogers Six sessions With this class, you will be introduced to some of the history behind quilting, the tools quilters use, strip cutting, chain piecing, machine piecing, applique, machine and hand quilting, borders with mitered corners, binding and labeling. Beginning Quilting

This class is designed for those who have never quilted, or for those who need a refresher course. Everything you need to know to complete that first quilt will be discussed. We will work on a one block wall hanging approximately 24” square. We will talk about fabrics and supplies, patterns, templates, rotary speed cutting, appliqué, piecing by hand or machine, borders, batting, quilting and binding. Teacher: Terri Burton. Old World Rose Applique

Old Rose Appliqué Teacher: Diane Patrice Rogers First six of twelve sessions All but one rose pattern in this quilt are date between the 1700’s with the “Whig Rose” to the 1930’s with the “Louisiana Rose.” It has been very interesting researching and finding these treasures to replicate in this project. You may appliqué by hand or machine. This is the first half of a 12-month project.
